Main area of work concerning early childhood intervention or vulnerable children The goal of the initiative is to provide a "network and a basis" for children in the context of vulnerable parents. The current focus is put on:
  • Further specialised training of professionals coming from the fields of youth-welfare and psychiatry
  • Counselling service via telephone for professionals, family/friends of the children as well as grown up children
  • Project counselling and project initiation
  • Development of own concepts to support children of vulnerable parents
  • Design and dissemination of information material
  • Advice on how to design material
  • Public relations / website on this topic
Former or present other project activities
  • Since 2005 management of the area "Godparenthood for children of parents with mental illness" for the youth welfare service AMSOC e.V.
  • Managment of one acutal and one virtual support group of grown up children of parents with mental illness
  • Organisation of a nation-wide meeting of grown up children of parents with mental illness
  • Creation of a Network of associations and stakeholders who provide support for children of vulnerable parents.
What else is important and one should know about this institution "Netz und Boden" was founded in 1999 by Katja Beeck and is specialised in the issue of "children of parents with mental vulnerability". It is important for he initiator to include the know-how of grown-up children into the problem analysis and the development of support services. 2004 the initiative was awarded with the "Janssen-Cilag Zukunftspreis".
